The Hi-‘S’ Special Power Floats have always been popular with the specialist angler, whether targeting Tench, Chub, large Roach, Rudd or Crucians or trotting for Barbel. Whilst we don’t apologise for the price of these as they are built to the highest specification using our Hi-‘S’ carbons for optimum strength to weight ratio we realise these are not in everyone’s budget so in response to requests for rods to do the same jobs which are more affordable come the Tamer Power Floats.
As with the Hi-‘S’ we prefer the actions when made with longer section lengths and less joints so both the 12’ and 13’ are two piece and the 15’ is three piece.
The Tamer Power Float 12’ two piece is designed mainly for Stillwater Tench, Bream, Roach, Rudd and Crucians. With a sensitive tip, yet significant backbone in the middle to butt sections gives a progressive build-up of power helping to prevent your quarry reaching a snag and help with extracting it should it do so.
The Tamer Power Float 13’ provides the best compromise for targeting the same species as the 12’ but also fishing rivers when targeting Chub, Barbel or Grayling. The two sections make for a lighter rod to hold than the equivalent three piece would be and also a smoother action since the rod only has a central over-fit joint. This rod is well suited to close range stick float fishing but also using larger pellet wagglers on the far bank when fishing over-depth for Barbel and Chub.
When needing a longer rod providing better line control when trotting the stick float or casting longer distances with a waggler, or when fishing slider floats, the Tamer Power Float 15’ comes into its own. This will handle Barbel and Chub on rivers like the Wye, Trent and Severn or the larger continental rivers where stronger tackle is required.
Built with ‘A’ grade full cork handles, Fuji DPS-M16 reel seat and ‘S’-Lite guides and featuring our ‘Perdurable’ finish these rods come in a pouch style bag to accommodate rods set up with reel attached.

Blank and rod weights may vary slightly from those quoted. We use stainless steel collars and butt caps for durability which will add a little to the rod’s overall weight but being on the handle should not adversely affect its balance.
